Chinese 3 /4 Double Bass

The Chinese Double Bass Sanding
The Chinese Double Bass. Beginning to ream the hole for the endpin.
Endpin hole reaming is tedious and difficult. While turning this reamer for hours, I began to wonder if I maybe should have bought the $300.00 + American-made reamer instead of this $47.00 Chinese reamer that took weeks to arrive.
All done! The endpin hole is reamed and endpin inserted.

Tuners installed. I like this style (separate tuners) rather than the Tyrolean style that many double basses use.
Neck (temporarily installed) with tuners.
The Spruce Soundpost after cutting and shaping the ends. Oops! It's too short. The bass has a round top and belly so, what looks like it is too big is way too short when trying to insert it. I had to order another one (I ordered four in case of more mistakes).
The bridge with faux (trial) bridge on the left. I use the faux bridge for a new bass setup before carving the new bridge to the correct size and shape.
The neck is temporarily installed with a couple of ratchet tie-downs attached between the two middle string tuners (A and D) and the endpin to add tension from the back while the two outside strings (E and G) are strung up to give tension from the front. When I finish adjusting the faux bridge, I will take it off and start carving the new bridge to the rough dimensions determined by the faux bridge.
